McHenry Responds to Indictment of Chinese Military Hackers in Equifax Breach

Today, Republican Leader of the House Financial Services Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), released the following statement in response to the indictment of four members of the Chinese military for their involvement in the 2017 Equifax data breach:
“The 2017 Equifax breach jeopardized nearly 150 million Americans’ most sensitive and personal information. It was clear from the start that the bad actors behind this hack were dead set on causing harm to American consumers. The evidence in the indictment now shows the hack was a coordinated attempt by a foreign adversary to compromise and amass our personal data. Republicans will continue to offer proposals to not only safeguard our crucial credit reporting system, but to combat an aggressive China.”
