Ranking Member McHenry Announces New Member of Financial Services Committee

Washington, January 16, 2020 -

Today, House Republicans selected Congressman Van Taylor (TX-3) to serve on the House Financial Services Committee. The top Republican on the Committee, Patrick McHenry (NC-10), issued the following statement in response:

“Congressman Van Taylor’s experience in the financial services sector will make him a valuable addition to our Committee. Having represented the Dallas metroplex first in the Texas state legislature and now in the House, he understands the important role the financial services industry plays in our communities. I look forward to working alongside Van in this new capacity.

“I also want to recognize the important contributions that Congressman Pete King has made to this Committee’s work over the last two decades. Pete will be missed by his colleagues here, but I am confident he will continue his legacy of service to our nation and wish him and his entire family well.”

Congressman Pete King (NY-2) will retire from Congress at the end of his term.

Full House consideration of the Republican approved committee member is expected to take place later today.
